Fairhaven Rescue Mission has been serving people in Northern Kentucky for over 40 years. It is a Christ-centered, nonprofit organization in Covington, KY that offers an emergency overnight shelter for men, a free daily community dinner open to everyone, a long-term recovery program for men, and a thrift store. All services are free of charge to those in need.

Who Can Visit?

The Daily Community Dinner is open to everyone — men, women, and families are all welcome. Dinner is served every day of the year, including holidays.

The Men's Emergency Overnight Shelter is open to men only. Beds are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

How to Register?

For the overnight shelter, registration begins at 5:45 PM each night. To improve your chances of getting a bed, arrive at the back door no earlier than 5:30 PM (per city ordinance). You will need to:

  • Bring a valid, current state ID (any state is accepted)
  • Pass a breathalyzer test upon entry
  • Agree to follow the Mission's guidelines and rules

For the community dinner, simply arrive at the back door by 5:30 PM. Adult guests are required to take a breathalyzer test upon entry.

How Often You Can Visit?

You can come to the community dinner every night of the year, no matter what.

For the overnight shelter, you can stay up to 14 consecutive nights. After your stay ends, you must wait 30 days before registering for a bed again. If you leave during your 14-night stay and do not return by 6:30 PM, you will also need to wait 30 days. However, you are still welcome to come for dinner and chapel any night, even if you are not eligible for a bed.

Good to Know

  • Doors close at 6:30 PM — if you leave the Mission, you cannot return after that time
  • There is a designated smoking area on site
  • Women and families are welcome for dinner and chapel, but must leave when overnight services begin (after 6:30 PM)
  • All services are free of charge

Food & Essentials

A hot dinner with a drink and dessert is served every single day, 365 days a year. The meal is open to all — men, women, and families.

How to Pick Up

Line up at the back door no earlier than 5:30 PM. Dinner begins at 5:45 PM and service runs until 6:30 PM.
