Madisonville Education and Assistance Center (MEAC)
Who Can Visit?
The MEAC Marketplace is open to neighbors who live in ZIP codes 45227, 45226, 45208, and 45209. MEAC serves people who live, work, and/or attend school in the community.
Items Needed for Registration
When you visit for the first time, bring a photo ID and a piece of mail showing your address. That's all you need to get started.
How Often You Can Visit?
Households can visit the MEAC Marketplace once a month.
Good to Know
Visitors get to pick items from a list of options and leave with a good amount — one reviewer described receiving "2 nice size boxes of mixed goods" plus a bag of apples and a jug of orange juice. Someone will even help load your car when you leave. First-time visitors say the process is simple and quick. The best time to connect with MEAC staff is on Tuesdays during Marketplace shopping hours.
Food & Essentials
The MEAC Marketplace provides fresh, frozen, and packaged foods, as well as personal care products. Visitors have received items like frozen meat including sliced pork loins and cut chicken breast, a bag of apples, 100% orange juice, and a variety of other packaged goods.
How to Pick Up
The MEAC Marketplace is a choice food pantry — you pick items from a list of options rather than receiving a pre-packed bag. The process is described as simple and quick.
Additional Support
MEAC offers several programs beyond food:
- Emergency Financial Assistance — Help with housing costs and utilities to keep families stable in their homes.
- Project LIFT — A partnership with United Way that supports struggling families as they move toward sustainable employment and remove barriers to financial stability.
- ParentChild+ Early Literacy Program — A national program that brings early literacy skills into the homes of toddlers, setting them up for success in preschool and beyond.
You can reach MEAC at 513-271-5501 or contact@meaccincinnati.org for more information about any of these programs. Most programs operate by appointment only.
